Parfait! I like to sit in the aisle, as I saunter, walk, wiggle, throughout the flight. But gee willikers! Please keep the shades open! I, too, say to myself, what a miracle it is we are flying through the air! I want to watch and celebrate the amazing feat of being above the clouds. Please let us observe!
It's a shame how the shades are always closed. On the one hand -- yes, you gotta sleep. On the other hand, sometimes out there you're flying right past the northern lights. x
And I did once. It was dark - no need to have the shades down. Everyone was sleeping so the captain didn't announce that the northern lights were right THERE. A treat. I wish I remembered where I was flying to or from.
When friends say they can't stand the long flight to Europe any more I tell them I would stand all the way if I had to, as long as it gets me where I want to go. You are so right ... it's a bloody miracle!
