Celebrity book clubs - definitely not happening for me. I don't care what so-and-so star claims to be reading. On the other hand, when a friend recommends a book, that is something I will check out.

What a fun, liberating read. I’m down for some trashy white confectionary chocolate. But going to give gardening one more go and if my garden gloves are pristine come September, HARD NO.

White chocolate demands a full discussion because technically it isn't even chocolate. I also have been known to enjoy it. I've given up wishing I was a Person Who Liked to Garden. I'm glad you're in the club.

What a great read, Karen! Thank you for this! Witty and spot-on (is that hyphenated? I am not British so I don't know.) For the record, I love white chocolate (okay, all chocolate), and your gardening foray lasts longer than my gardening determination.

What a delightful read on a Saturday morning! I loved everything about this list. When I was a pastry chef I got lots of grief for preferring milk to dark chocolate - I just started telling people I liked milk chocolate because of the "superior mouth feel". Make those dark chocolate lovers feel like it's *their* taste that is unrefined.

Oh joy, oh no! I fear I fall prey to a few of these! #3... I'm trying to do the extemporaneous little videos suggesting a book (not a celeb bookclub, thank god!) But I am not Obama, I do not speak in clean, clear paragraphs. I'm a little rough around the edges. #7 I love my big black Poindexter frames! And #5, I do love my 70% dark chocolate (my maximum) but I don't have it embroidered on a chic $400 Lingua Franca cashmere sweater! I just plain old eat it.

Thanks for making me laugh! xxxN

This list is all that and more! I love the sassy writing style. Made me LOL so many times because yeah, a lot of this shit ain’t happening over here in my house either.

I totally feel I you on the bit about French but add Dutch to that, as I’m struggling to learn it while a French word seeps out here and there when I meant to praten Nederlands! My brain on learning Dutch is like that fried egg commercial from the 80s warning us about the perils of drug abuse. The net effect is nearly the same. LOL

Dutch people will often switch to English (who can blame them, as we “boutenlanders” butcher their language) so that makes learning and practicing it a little more challenging in addition to the rapid pace of speaking.

As a stickler for grammar and just doing things well, I concur with you on polishing one’s shit! 🤣

And, lastly, how much time do we have to talk about chocolate? And I lost it when you called white chocolate the trashiest chocolate of all. There are hardly any truer words! LOL

I truly enjoyed this whole article. Thank you for the witty brain candy and hello from The Netherlands 🇳🇱
