Just got this. I'm not done but thank you. I lost both parents recently, i was POA, we had estrangement issues and people still wanted to tell me I'll see them again. I held their stories my whole life. Now I'm walking this fall for me. 14 days (ish...bc kids at home) and learning to find freedom in this walk. Love it so far!

Coincidentally I had just read a nice review on Ms. Kessler's book in today's Wall St. Journal. I look forward to reading the book.

It's a barn burner, thrilling from beginning to end, and also utterly heart-breaking. With some wickedly funny dark moments, too. I hope you love it.

Picking it up for sure. All's well here. Saw Matt a couple of weeks ago in Brooklyn at a fabulous literary event he put together. I sent you some pics, don't know if you saw them, but we told everyone about Karbohemia! <3

I love the "gobble up" comment below (and agree). I am so delighted we got to talk about writerly things and so much more. With gratitude for these thoughtful questions.

Merci to you for being such a willing interrogatee. And best of luck on publication. I still feel great books will find their audiences, and yours will too.

I loved this and loved getting to know a new and beautiful female voice. Thank you for sharing Karen. xx

I think you might really like it -- in addition to the obvious terrible difficulties, there's also a lot of excellent dark humor. Life is brutal sometimes, but then in the midst of it, some A++ hilarity ensues.

You know I love me some A++ hilarity!

Ms. Karbo, I'd like you to know that I gobble up every one of your missives. Always so smart, funny, relatable, and alluring. Thank you.

Your kind words mean the world to me. Especially since most days as I'm banging out my dispatches I'm wondering if something I think is funny and amusing is really just crazy.
